It’s been a great start to the tour so far! Firecloud played an amazing 12:30am-2:30am set at the Flurry Festival in Saratoga Springs NY this past Friday, or was it Saturday? You can listen to our demo at firecloudmusic.com !!
as my drive out west begins I’m going to be posting some edits that haven’t made it onto the blog yet, so here are the silliest things I did on skis last year:
November 7th, 2012 lawn and sidewalk skiing!
Andy Reiner here, the skiing fiddler. This is my last night before my first ever solo cross country ski bum fiddling tour! I’ll be playing concerts and teaching workshops across the midwest, skiing in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. I’m going to try and post as much music and skiing as I can here on this blog! You can always check out more music at my website – www.andyreiner.com Thanks for following my travels! First stop: Dance Flurry Festival in Saratoga Springs, NY with Firecloud Friday February 15.
The recent Storm Nemo dropped almost 3 feet on Lexington and Winchester MA, where I found some extremely soft, and short lines down some conservation land pitches. This is the Brushy Run! This stuff is only skiable 0-1 times a year and these were the best conditions ever – no rocks or coreshots! Music is my new tune Jig of Burrs with Chris Turner on jawharp!
I had the honor of playing the Anchorage Folk Festival in January and got to go skiing! Here’s my favorite run, paired with a new Irish polka that I wrote. Thanks Kenny Powers for showing me Manitoba mountain!
